When \;René\; \;wanted to learn to fly she didn&rsquo\;t even know what side of the plane a pilot sat on. \; As soon as she started lessons\, she knew this was the way she wanted to make a living and see the country. \; After flying professionally in Alaska for many years during the. 1980&rsquo\;s and &lsquo\;90&rsquo\;s\, René\; took 30 years off to pursue other interests and work. \; Currently retired\, she has returned to aviation\, now in her own plane\, and is getting to know our corner of the country from the air. \; She will share stories and insights from a life in the skies.

Rene&rsquo\;s Comments on her Horizon Lines Exhibit Artworks Below &ndash\; \;Horizons here in our corner of NE Oregon often include wonderful and interesting terrain. \; Stand on the shoreline of Wallowa Lake and the natural horizon is hidden from view by Glacial Moraines and Mountains. \; On a walk across the Prairie\, The Findley Buttes feature prominently in the distance. \; Living inland\, I&rsquo\;ve come to realize that it can be years between my own sightings of a sunset on the perfectly flat horizon created by the ocean. \; Life is also such that the true horizon of the future is mostly obscured by the terrain negotiated on the varied terrain of my journey.
