SUMMARY:Community Conversations: Main Street
DESCRIPTION:The second in a series of six "Building Community" talks will feature Main Street businesses. Hear firsthand what it's like to run some of the most beloved local businesses from a cozy and charming bookstore\, a thoughtfully curated home goods\, gallery and art shop to a bustling pizza spot\, brewery and general store. Discover the stories\, challenges\, and heart behind the storefronts that help shape our community. Michael Junkins of M. Crow\, Leah Svendsen of Element in Joseph and Becky Wyland of the Bookloft in Enterprise will be the presenters on Tuesday\, May 6\, at noon at the Josephy Center on Main Street in Joseph.\n\nThe Josephy Center received a grant from Oregon Humanities for this series of community conversations discussing private and public goods and services. What do businesses\, churches\, clinics\, farms and ranches provide for us as individuals in this community\; and what do the same provide to the community as a whole.\n\nThis "Tuesday Talk" will be followed by programs in May and June centering on Main Street businesses\, Timber and Agriculture\, Tourism and Recreation\, Religion\, and our Community Non-Profits. We'll cover the waterfront\, from JAZEE Timber to Monday night dinners at The Place\, Community Conversations are free and open to the public. And we'll have the coffee on!
