SUMMARY:Fishtrap Presents Book Signing and Reading
DESCRIPTION:Fishtrap celebrates two of its favorite Wallowa County writers\, Cameron Scott and Eileen Thiel with author reading and book release party Sunday\, November 20 at 4pm. \n\n \n\nEileen Thiel's memoir\, Seasons Silently Waiting tells the story of a sheltered California city girl's marriage to a country boy potato farmer. Her memoir is more than a love story\, or a coming of age story\; it is also a story of determination and faith\, and how sometimes\, not having the right shoes for hiking means having to learn to fly instead. Eileen has received a Fishtrap Fellow as well as an award by the Pacific Northwest Writer's Association (PNWA} in their International Memoir competition. Her work appears in two anthologies: Woven on the Wind: Women Write About Friendship in the Sagebrush West\, and Chocolate for a Woman's Soul\, Volume 2.\n\n \n\nCameron Scott is well known in Wallowa County as a writer and educator. His second collection of poetry\, The Book of Cold Mountain\, won The Blue Light Book Award and he was a finalist in this year's Mark Fischer Poetry Prize for his poem "Mule Deer\, White Tailed Deer." Cameron received an MFA in poetry from the University of Arizona. He as worked as a writer-in-residence and teaching artist for Colorado Art Ranch\, Chiloquin Visions in Progress\, Playa\, and Fishtrap\, where he currently helps implement Fishtrap Story Lab. In the summers Cameron is a fly fishing guide in Colorado. \n\n \n\nBoth writers will read selections from their works\, answer questions from the audience\, and have books available for purchase. Light refreshments will be served.
