SUMMARY:Flora School Blacksmith Class
DESCRIPTION:People of all ages have two chances to pound hot metal (blacksmith) this summer\; suggested age limit no younger than high school age\, unless parent enrolls too (10% discount for two from one family). The August intermediate class will also contain a beginners class for those that could not make the July class. (Excellent July class by the way\, with four students!) Check with the instructor on possible future classes if you cannot make this class or email floraschool@tds.net. Questions? Learn skills to make tools that you need as a blacksmith. Also extra done if time allows. \n\n\n\n	"Second Iron Step on the Blacksmith Ladder" August 4-5 intermediate blacksmith-- Saturday and Sunday start at 9am\, $100 includes use of equipment and materials needed (bring your own equipment if you have it though). The intermediate students need to have had a beginner's class or to speak with the instructor. Tongs and hammers will be made in this class. Dinner Saturday night-- Dutch oven $10.\n\n\n\n\nQUILTING & SEWING CLASSES \n\nSewing classes for beginners and sewing activities in general will team up opposite the blacksmith classes. Questions? Marie Norris\, the Eastern Oregon Regional QOV director and demonstrator at School Days. Norris\, killed in a car accident while leaving the Flora School\, would have wanted "the show to go on"\; she was in charge of the QOV activities at the Flora School. Bring red\, white and blue fabrics\; ideas for blocks and quilts if you have them\; even bring blocks that are made to complete into a quilt. We will build blocks and/or quilts for veterans. There will be kits available to buy for you and/or a QOV block/quilt. Plan on coming for every day or for whatever time you can spare. Dinner Saturday night-- Dutch oven $10.
