SUMMARY:Grand Re-Opening Flora School Library
DESCRIPTION:Books will be ready for checkout\, but even more books are ready to sell: used books and new\n\nbooks. "Boxed-book" deals\, "Bags of Books" deals and "Buy a Mystery-box" deals will all be in full swing\n\nfor those wanting books to read\, all of which help the Flora School restoration project. Thousands of\n\nbooks available for all ages and interests.\n\n\n\nAuthors will be on-hand for book signings. Flora School alumni tours will give attendees a view\n\nof how the school once was. Story time for children and then for adults too will be part of the activities\n\nto bring the old library back to life. Refreshments\, made by local eateries\, are connected to authors and\n\ntheir books. Special fundraiser package includes a library mug\, locally roasted coffee and a discount on\n\nbook buying.\n\n\n\nRibbon cutting ceremony will be at approximately 10am\, opening address in the Holloway Room\n\n(NE classroom) at 9am and other activities to follow throughout the day.\n\nFor more information: email floraschool@tds.net\, text 541.263.2368 or call 541.828.7010.\n\n\n\nFYI HISTORY: The Flora School started out with "libraries" in each classroom\, books according to the age\n\ngroup in that particular room. At some point an actual library was setup in the high school (2nd floor)\n\nportion of the old school. The school and its libraries functioned from 1915 to 1975\, with Ben Curry\n\nbeing the last student at the school.\n\nThe local public library in Flora\, for years\, was located in Myrtle Wulff's home west of the\n\nschool. Then it moved to the Northend Grange for a few years with David Curry\, local high school\n\nstudent as librarian\, and eventually came to rest in the Flora School once again. When all the county\n\nlibraries were closed\, the Flora School Education Center decided to restore the library to have a public\n\nlibrary once again in the north end
