SUMMARY:Heritage Project Presentation
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, March 17\, join us at Josephy Center for Arts and Culture for a potluck and discussion led by Orvalla Hafer and Myrna Journot\, descendants of Promise\, Oregon settlers\, with Linda Bauck and Marilyn Hulse\, followed by the debut of the music video "The Promise." This collaboration between Josephy Center and the Music Alliance received funding from the Ford Family Foundation and the Autzen Foundation. Thursday's potluck starts at 5:30\, discussion at 6:30\, and afterwards all are invited to view a screening of the film "Matewan" which depicts the plight of coal mining families of West Virginia\, many whom migrated west to places like Promise\, to escape that life.
