In this workshop we will focus on the key components of\n\nimprovisation connection\, listening\, and staying present in the moment.\n\nThrough games and scene work we will explore what it means to say "yes"\n\nand ways to avoid saying "no". In addition\, we will explore what it means to\n\nwork in collaboration versus working in competition. We will focus on teamwork to build\n\na story through character development as well as creating and addressing conflict.\n\nRegistrants can expect to learn to stay open and present in the moment\, engage in\n\nteam-building exercises\, and learn how to incorporate "yes\, and " into not just improve\,\n\nbut also conversation at large.\n\n \n\nSarah Hennessey is a Nimiipuu poet\, performer\, playwright and youth empowerment\n\ntheater practitioner residing in the Lenni-Lenape lands of Phoenixville\, Pennsylvania.\n\nShe is a member of the Nimiipuu writers collective luk'upsiimey\, as well as a member\n\nof the Chester County based improv group Better Than Bacon. \n\n Fishtrap's Writer-in-Residence program is sponsored in part by the Kokanee Inn and the Oregon Arts Commission.
