DESCRIPTION:Marika Straw & Seth Kinzie\n\nMarika Straw is a queer\, Jewish\, nonbinary singer-songwriter from Wallowa County\, Oregon. They compose & perform powerfully heartfelt and intimate songs for piano & voice. Marika's style *could* be described as indie/jazzy/bluesy/art pop\, "the sound of naked emotion\," or avant-pop alternative...but we'll let you weigh in on that at the show. They will be joined by a surprise guest on some of their songs! If you would like a taste of what some of their music sounds like\, check out their single\, "Waiting\," released in 2019.\n\nThat said\, one of their friends says their bio should be the following: "Supremely badass musician and writer. 2nd place in the Brown Bag Songwriting Competition in Asheville\, NC (2017). Someone once said I sound like a Disney Princess."\n\nA student of Shawn Kirchner\, Seth Kinzie composes impressionist tone poems on piano\, expressing the wild benevolence of life. He previously composed for and performed with the instrumental trio Plum Sutra from Portland. He currently collaborates with E Oregon percussionist\, Andy Steele.
