SUMMARY:Opening reception for Annual Women's Exhibit at Josephy Center
DESCRIPTION:The Women's Exhibit is an annual art show held at the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture 403 Main St. in Joseph Oregon. This year's theme is "Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories." The exhibit will feature artwork from 63 artists from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. We have invited  88 individual works in a variety of mediums\, to include but not limited to: Painting (watercolor\, acrylic\, & oil)\; Photography\; Digital Painting\; Drawing\; Sculpture\; Printmaking\; Fibers\; Film and more! \n\n \n\nJoin us for the opening reception March 4th from 6:30-9pm at Josephy Center for Arts and Culture at 403 N Main Street in Joseph\, Oregon. Live Music by Calico Bones\, and light food will be provided\, drinks will be available for purchase. We will be joined by this year's curator is Auburn Isaak of La Grande Oregon. Who will announce her pick for the winner of "Curators Choice Award." Don't forget to cast your vote for "People's Choice."\n\nMore about this year's curator\, Auburn creates her art while surrounded by the legendary eastern Oregon terrain. With the clear skies\, lush vegetation\, unique wildlife\, and truly breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and rolling hills. One could not ask for a more inspiring place to create. Auburn's current work is pulled from the fluidity of the nature she surrounds herself with\, and she is constantly striving to push the boundaries and dimensions of fluid acrylics and mixed media.\n\n \n\nWhen Auburn is not creating art\, she can be found playing guitar\; gardening\; hanging with her wife\, Mackenzie\, or exploring the landscapes that surround her. Auburn is a native of eastern Oregon growing up in Joseph\, OR\, where she went on to graduate from Eastern Oregon University in 2012\, with a Bachelor of Science degree in art and now currently works in the Dean's Office for Arts\, Humanities and Social Sciences.\n\n \n\nTo see examples of Auburn's work\, check out her Instagram account @auburnisaakart . Auburn will be giving an Artist Brown Bag Presentation to discuss her artwork and practice at Josephy Center on March 21st from 12-1pm.\n\n \n\nIn addition to the Women's Exhibit at Josephy Center in Joseph\, we are partnering with Fishtrap and The Music Alliance to bring you "Women\, Words\, & Music" a live performance on March 31st 7-9pm in the new Fishtrap building located at 107 W Main Street\, in Enterprise Oregon. $10 suggested donation at the door.
