SUMMARY:Science and Technology Innovation in Wallowa County
DESCRIPTION:The workshop will explore ways in which existing service providers can work together to support economic opportunity and job and business creation resulting from innovation\, as well as seeking input from local entrepreneurs about assistance they need to advance new opportunities taking advantage of science / technology innovations in any aspect of a business - including both new and existing businesses.\n\n\n\nCollectively\, this workshops will explore the potential of a Northeast Oregon Regional Innovation Hub to build and advance a regional innovation ecosystem\, and improve access to technical assistance\, capital\, networking\, mentorship\, and talent development for science and technology innovation. The Hub concept envisions organizing service providers to more seamlessly and effectively support local entrepreneurs pursuing innovation-based business opportunities.  It is our hope that the workshops will convene diverse service providers\, business leaders\, entrepreneurs\, students and other community members to discuss the potential for economic growth in traded-sector industries through innovation\, the support services needed to incubate and accelerate R&D and commercialization\, and some of the specific sectors where science and technology innovation could make a real difference.
