DESCRIPTION:Tuesday Talks this month relate to the exhibit theme\, "Feminine Visions: Embracing Strength and Adventure."\n\nOn Tuesday\, March 5\, Nora Hawkins will talk about her adventures in Antarctica.\n\nNora Hawkins went to Smith College in Massachusetts\, and moved home to Wallowa to take an active role in her family ranch on Bear Cr. Since that time\, Nora has been a firefighter\, a journalist\, a cheesemaker in a creamery\, worked for over a decade as a wrangler and guide into the Wallowa mountains\, brewed at Terminal Gravity\, worked in Alaska and several seasons in Antarctica\, modeled\, volunteered as an EMT and for Search and Rescue.\n\nNora is an avid world traveler who has been to all seven continents and worked on five of them\, yet always came home with no desire to live elsewhere. She now lives in Wallowa and is a mother of two young girls. She is a licensed homebirth midwife and lactation specialist with a private practice that serves Wallowa and Union counties and she continues to help run her family ranch!
