SUMMARY:Tunesmith Night at Lear's Pub & Grill
DESCRIPTION:The Wallowa Valley Music Alliance continues their monthly songwriter showcase\, Tunesmith Night\, on Saturday\, January 14 with An American Forrest\, Edmund Wayne & Rodd Ambroson.\n\n\n\nWith songwriter and lead singer Curt Krause at the helm\, Edmund Wayne is making waves with their down-home\, dirt-rock\, pop-powered\, exploratory sound. With intimate vocals and dynamic song structure keep your full attention\, Edmund Wayne has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with some wonderful bands such as: Dawes\, Local Natives\, Deep Dark Woods\, Breathe Owl Breathe\, and Damien Jurado. Constantly creating\, Edmund Wayne is in the process of recording a full length album that will be released on Woolly Records.\n\n\n\nAn American Forrest (a.k.a. A. Forrest VanTuyl) is a native of rural Southwest Washington\, a songwriter\, and a semi-professional vagabond. He was born in a farmhouse surrounded by conifers and alongside a barn with ideal acoustics for country music. He began writing in the Impressionist Americana aesthetic in 2012 during a 6-month stint living in France\, Spain\, Bulgaria\, and Morocco. His songs are ruminations on sensory-triggered memories\, heroic women\, rural Western America\, and a God that can no longer afford postage stamps. "Forrest's songs\, similar to the harsh winters of the Northwest\, are not for the faint of heart." - Bart Budwig\n\n \n\nMany may recognize Joseph painter and sculptor Rodd Ambroson for his stunning visual works\, and that same passion is apparent in his music. With flowing fingerstyle guitar backing his warm\, rich voice\, his ballads are full of imagery\, emotion\, and attention to detail. Three of his songs appear on the compilation CD "Songs from the End of the Road" released in 2008.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\nHeld every second Saturday\, October through May\, this monthly showcase of original music is an opportunity for songwriters to present their work to a supportive listening audience\, sharing insights with the listeners and camaraderie with their fellow tunesmiths. The show is presented in a round-robin format\, with each musician playing a song\, then the next taking a turn\, creating an interesting and varied performance.
