DESCRIPTION:Flora School Days has been cancelled due to the pandemic. But wait\, the Flora School Education Center is working on a Virtual School Days for 2020. Normally held the first Saturday in June\, the pioneer celebration will go virtual if at all possible on that same day\, Saturday June 6 10am to 4pm on the Flora School's Facebook page. Stay tuned for more information from the school's Facebook page\, website and newsletter.\n\n\n\nFlora School Days has always been a celebration of old time skills and eats and now it will encompass old time contests and competitions. Along with the addition of more activities\, the annual celebration\, held the first Saturday in June and will include  music\, demonstrations\, pie social and the "two-handed plate" of food from the Dutch oven lunch.\n\n\n\nBlacksmith demonstrations at School Days have always been popular since the very beginning in 1999.   This is the third year the Flora School will be host to several smithies at work during the competition for blacksmiths. All skill levels are welcome. The projects are "Sets or a Set" with Blacksmith Tongs having to be made prior to starting the item set. This year two Forged in Fire Champions will be competing for the top spot (Mike Rowley of Enterprise\, Oregon and David Roeder of Pasco\, Washington)\, in order to do so they will have to get past the previous years Blacksmith Champions (Mark McVane of College Place\, Washington and Nathan Thompson of Walla Walla\, Washington). Then the finished work will be judged by a panel of judges and by the public. The finished work can be bought straight off the table and will also be auctioned off\n\n\n\nBesides the blacksmith competition\, a Corn-Hole competition and the third annual Camp Chili Cook-off will be taking place the day of School Days.\n\n\n\nFor more information on School Days\, contest sign up and entry rules\, see the FSEC website at www.floraschool.org or Flora School's Facebook page or call for more information at 541.828.7911 or 541.828.7010.
