DESCRIPTION:Cause Oregon\, in partnership with Northeast Oregon Economic Development District\, is offering a comprehensive series of seminars this spring to sharpen the skills of nonprofit boards and staff. Whether you're new to the sector or a seasoned professional\, the series will provide practical tools for your work.\n\n \n\nClasses are stand-alone modules and also build a nonprofit toolkit sequentially. Participants can attend any number of sessions at $35 each\, or register for all ten at a discounted rate of $295. Seating is limited\; pre-registration is required. Fees are not refundable but can be credited for future sessions. \n\n\n\nThis week's session is on Starting a Nonprofit. Is there a cause you'd like to champion by starting a charitable nonprofit? Working in the nonprofit sector is very rewarding\, but passion alone is not enough. As with any startup\, nonprofits take a considerable amount of time and require a full suite of business skills. In this session\, we'll explore the key considerations in starting a nonprofit and steps required to gain exempt status. We'll also outline the elements necessary for an organization to be successful.
