DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a lecture sponsored by Wallowology on the back deck of Wallowa Lake Lodge under the trees for this particular Thursday event (weather permitting). Dress for cooler temps! Lecture from 6-7 PM. Free and Open to the public. Large trees represent a small proportion of trees in the forest\, but they play an exceptionally important role in the entire forest community. Wallowology's Dr Mildrexler will present on global change\, big trees and water availability\, and climate mitigation in Eastern Oregon's forests. Dr David Mildrexler focuses on terrestrial systems science\, global change biology\, large landscape conservation\, and the educational programs at Wallowology Natural History Discovery Center. He is a Wilburforce Fellow in Conservation Science and holds a PhD in Forest Ecosystems and Society from Oregon State University.
