This beloved tradition began in 1989\, thanks to local photographer Doris Woempner\, and has been carried forward by passionate arts advocates like Joan Madsen\, Leah Johnson\, Will Roundy\, and most recently Maria Weer.\n\nThe Youth Arts Festival is bursting with creativity and fun\, featuring:\n\n A dazzling display of youth artwork\n\n Awards and ribbons galore\n\n-Hands-on activities to spark your imagination\n\n New this year! Open Mic for Youth Performances! See details below!\n\nCalling All Youth Performers!\n\nDo you love to sing\, play an instrument\, recite poetry\, or perform? Here's your chance to shine!\n\nYouth Open Mic Performance\n\nWhen: Saturday\, April 12th\, 1PM-3PM\n\nStep up to the mic and share your talent with an enthusiastic and supportive audience! Perform solo or with friends whatever makes your creativity soar.\n\nMusic? Spoken Word? Comedy? Dance?\n\nNo experience? No problem! This is your time to express yourself and have fun. Spectators are welcome\, so bring your family and friends to cheer you on!\n\nSign-up will be at 12PM first come\, first served at the Josephy Center on Saturday. Spots are limited\, so be sure to sign up early!\n\nDon't miss out come celebrate art\, music\, and the incredible talents of our community's young creatives!
