Working title:
Bangkok and Angkor Wat: A Travel Tale of Two Asian Cities

Bangkok is today the largest city in mainland Southeast Asia with over 10 million people, more than New York City. It is a shining glass and steel city of skyscrapers with colorful markets, restaurants, shopping malls and a historic core of palaces and temples.

Angkor Wat, while a recovering ruin today, may have once been the largest metropolitan area in the World, when an estimated 900,000 people in the 13th Century. Today, after centuries of abandonment, the many stone temples are being recovered from the dense jungle that still surrounds the sights. The nearby small town of Siem Reap is the center for museums, performances, tourist amenities and a vibrant night life.
