CORDAGE WITH KOLLE

cordage, or string, with three local plants; stinging nettle(Urtica dioica), milkweed (Asclepias Speciosa) and dogbane (Apocynum cannabinum). Ethical harvesting methods will be discussed along with where to find some of the plants. Students explore the basics of making 2 ply cordage with possibilities of trying 4 ply or more in this Saturday workshop. All supplies and a SHARP knife or exacto blades are provided. Ages 12 and up.

Students are encouraged to bring their own trusty knives that will be used to scrap the dog bane.
Wearing jeans makes these techniques easier—so dress accordingly!
