Tuesday Talk:

Revisiting Church and State on the Nation’s 250th Birthday

June 30

12:00PM – 1:00PM

Where did the separation of church and state come from — and what does it really mean today?

Join us at noon on June 30 for Tuesday Talk as Tony Robinson explores the origins of this foundational constitutional principle, tracing its historical roots and examining its role in American government then and now. Whether you come with questions or convictions, this promises to be a thought-provoking and timely conversation.

All are welcome.  We’ll have tea and coffee!

Tony Robinson is a writer, teacher and preacher, an ordained minister (United Church of Christ). He was the senior minister of Seattle’s Plymouth Congregational Church (UCC) for fourteen years. For many years he was a regular columnist for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper, writing his “Faith Matters” column. He is an author of 14 books and many articles. These days he blogs regularly at his Substack site: “What’s Tony Thinking?” He has deep roots in Wallowa County where both his maternal and paternal grandparents lived and worked, and where his parents grew up. He and his wife Linda, a regular docent at the Josephy Center, spend summers in a family cabin at the Lake which is now 100 years old.
