Wallowa Whitman Forest Service & Wallowa County Open House

The Wallowa-Whitman National Forest and Wallowa County are jointly hosting three open houses this month. These gatherings will provide opportunities for community members to have informal conversations with leadership and staff from Wallowa County and the National Forest.

Open houses are scheduled for the following dates, times, and locations:

Tuesday, February 18, 5-7 p.m.  Wallowa Senior Center, 204 2nd Street, Wallowa, OR 97885

Wednesday, February 19, 5-7 p.m.  The Place (adjacent to the United Methodist Church), 301 South Lake Street, Joseph, OR 97846

Thursday, February 20, 5-7 p.m.  Cloverleaf Hall, Wallowa County Fairgrounds, 668 NW 1st Street, Enterprise, OR 97828

“Wallowa County residents place great value in the mountains, forests, rivers, rangelands, and canyons of the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest,” shared Susan Roberts, Wallowa County Commissioner. “These open houses are a chance to talk about our interests, ask questions, and get to know local leadership and staff in an informal setting.”

“I’m grateful for the working relationship we have with Wallowa County,” said Tom Montoya, Wallowa-Whitman National Forest Supervisor. “We both share a responsibility to serve Wallowa County residents, so I’m looking forward to hearing what’s important to the people we serve.”

Open house participants are invited to come and go as their schedules allow, as there is no set agenda for these gatherings. In addition to County and National Forest leadership, District Rangers and staff from the National Forest’s Wallowa Mountains Office will be available to talk about local resource management and current projects.
