Position Summary

The Accounting Specialist will play a vital role within the Finance Department, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of key financial operations. This position requires specialized skills in problem-solving and a high degree of technical fluency.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations

  • Process invoices for Accounts Payable, ensuring all charges are necessary, reasonable, and accurate.

  • Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents.

  • Reconcile vendor statements, investigate discrepancies, and communicate with vendors to resolve issues promptly.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor information, including contact details and payment terms.

  • Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring full compliance with company policy.

  • Process company credit card transactions, ensuring purchases are appropriately documented and coded to the correct general ledger accounts.

  • Manage cash deposits and process EFT cash and credit card disbursements.

  • Assist with reconciling bank accounts and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.

Compliance and Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to ensure all financial functions are completed accurately and on time.

  • Must comply with HIPAA requirements as outlined by the Federal Government and the clinic's privacy policy.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.

Qualifications and Competencies

Required Skills

  • Accounting Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting principles and terminology (e.g., General Ledger, debits, credits, account reconciliation, accrual vs. cash basis) relevant to Accounts Payable (AP) functions and routine financial tasks.

  • Software Proficiency: Ability to use programs such as Abila, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe to complete routine tasks.

  • Internet Fluency: Ability to check email, navigate Google Docs, use interoffice chat, and utilize internet resources.

  • Communication Skills: Clear verbal and written communication is required for communicating with co-workers, patients, providers, families, and community partners.

  • Teamwork: A strong team attitude is essential for collaboration with the CFO and the wider department.

 

 


 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Wage: $20 - $26 DOE
