Eagle Cap Excursion Train: Fall Foliage Runs

Fall colors are the highlight of our autumn trips, and photographers especially love this time of year. Our Two Rivers run capitalizes on the beauty and quiet of fall. Some trips have special entertainment or guest experts.

Autumn lasts for several weeks, offering an ever-changing palette of oranges, golds and burgundy leaves and ending with the showy yellow brilliance of the Western Larch, a deciduous conifer that is known locally as the Tamarack. The train ride is the same as our Two Rivers run, departing from Elgin Depot at 10 a.m. and returning at 2 p.m., with lunch included and served on the train.
