JOB SUMMARY:
The Cook in Nutritional Services plays a key role in delivering a positive patient and guest experience by preparing high-quality, nutritious meals in alignment with the mission of WCHCD to provide premier healthcare. This position is in constant contact with the public and serves as a direct reflection of the hospital’s commitment to excellence in care and service.
The Cook is responsible for the preparation of a wide variety of foods, including meats, poultry, fish, vegetables, starches, soups, sauces, casseroles, sandwiches, baked goods and desserts, as outlined on the current menu. Meals are prepared for hospital patients, the employee/visitor cafeteria and in-house catered events. The Cook must demonstrate proper food safety practices, attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness and presentation. This position reports directly to the Nutritional Services Supervisor.
